Which is why I have compiled a student approved list of activities for everyone! Doesn’t matter if you prefer to unwind with a good book or craft, or if you’re the type to let loose with adventuring seeking thrills! Worry not, I got you covered, there is something for everyone in this city.
Sun Peaks Resort
Sun Peaks resort is a community just Northeast of Kamloops, about 45 minutes away. In the summer and fall they exhibit amazing hiking and biking trails! And as the rain turns into snow this place becomes a winter wonderland. Truly like a village you would see out of a hallmark movie! It’s a wonderful place to ski and snowboard, or even put your skates on and enjoy the outdoor arena! If none of those suit your fancy, feel free to walk around the lit-up village and enjoy a nice warm cup of hot chocolate.
Kamloops Art Party
If you’re more the artistic type, I have just the place for you! Kamloops Art Party is a vibrant creative space where art enthusiasts of all skill levels can explore a variety of artistic activities. Whether you’re interested in painting, pottery, sculpting with clay, or crafting beautiful glassware, this welcoming studio offers the perfect environment to unleash your creativity. With hands-on workshops and plenty of materials to choose from, it’s an inspiring destination to express yourself, learn new skills, and create unique pieces of art. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced artist, Kamloops Art Party is a fun, interactive place to bring your artistic visions to life.
Community Ice Rinks
Kamloops is home to three popular arenas: Brock Arena, Valleyview Arena, and McArthur Arena, offering plenty of opportunities for ice sports and recreation. These venues are perfect for hockey fans and skaters alike, with options for public skate sessions or stick and puck times to practice your skills. Hockey Games
On the note of ice! Kamloops is home to the Blazers hockey team which brings excitement and energy to the city. As a part of the Western Hockey League (WHL), the Blazers offer fast-paced, high-energy games that are a blast to watch for fans of all ages. The team is not just known for its skill on the ice, but for the incredible sense of community that surrounds it. Fans come together to cheer on the team, creating an electric atmosphere at every game.
